Ordering & Payment
How do I place an order?
Click any product in the Shop, select your size and color on the product page, add to cart, and check out. We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay through Shopify's secure checkout.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All transactions are processed through Shopify Payments, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant. We never see or store your full card number.
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
Orders go into production quickly — usually within a few hours. If you need to change or cancel, email us at [email protected] as soon as possible. We'll do what we can, but we can't guarantee changes once production starts.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
We ship to the United States and most international destinations. Domestic orders ship from fulfillment facilities inside the U.S. International orders may take longer and may be subject to customs fees, which are the buyer's responsibility.
How long does shipping take?
Most domestic orders arrive within 5–10 business days from the time you order. That includes 2–5 business days for production (your item is printed when you order it) plus 2–5 business days for shipping. International orders typically take 10–20 business days. These are estimates — actual times vary by carrier and destination.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
Expedited shipping options may be available at checkout depending on your location. Because items are printed on demand, there's a minimum production time regardless of how fast the shipping option is.
How do I track my order?
You'll receive an email with tracking information once your order ships. If you haven't received a tracking email within 7 business days of ordering, check your spam folder or contact us at [email protected].
Products & Sizing
What does "printed on demand" mean?
Every item in the State Jefferson shop is printed when you order it — not sitting in a warehouse somewhere. This means your item is made specifically for you. It also means we can offer a large catalog without stocking inventory. Print quality is the same as you'd get from any premium apparel brand; we use Printful, one of the most established print-on-demand fulfillment companies in the industry.
Where are items made?
Items are printed and shipped from Printful's U.S. fulfillment facilities. The blank garments and products vary by item — check the individual product page for specifics. We prioritize products printed on American-made blanks where available.
How does sizing work?
Each product page includes a size chart. For t-shirts, we generally recommend sizing up if you're between sizes — most blanks run slightly fitted. Hats are typically one-size-fits-most or have adjustable closures. If a product has specific sizing notes, they'll be on the product page.
Will colors look exactly like the photos?
Product photos show representative colors and designs. Actual colors may vary slightly due to monitor calibration, dye lots, and the printing process. We try to use accurate photos, but we can't guarantee an exact pixel-perfect match between screen and print.
Returns & Exchanges
What's your return policy?
Because items are made to order, we don't accept returns for buyer's remorse or incorrect size selections. However, if your item arrives damaged, has a print defect, or is the wrong item, we'll replace it at no cost to you. Contact us at [email protected] with your order number and a photo of the issue.
My order arrived damaged or wrong. What do I do?
Email [email protected] with your order number and a photo. We'll get a replacement out to you. We aim to respond within one business day.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
Unfortunately we can't exchange items ordered in the wrong size — each item is made specifically for your order. We'd encourage you to check the size chart before ordering. If you have questions about sizing before you buy, email us and we'll help.
About State Jefferson
What is State Jefferson?
State Jefferson is the common name for the region straddling the California-Oregon border — principally Siskiyou, Trinity, Del Norte, Modoc, and Shasta counties in California, and Klamath, Jackson, and Josephine counties in Oregon. In 1941, citizens of the region briefly declared independence as the State of Jefferson. Read the full history here.
Is this a political brand?
No. We're a regional identity brand — the same way you might wear a shirt from your home state or city without it being a political statement. The Jefferson movement has a political history, but our gear is for the people who live here and feel a connection to this specific corner of the American West. Not an agenda. Just a region.
Who runs State Jefferson?
We're a small operation based in northern California. Read more about us here.
